Interior Architectural Designer, LEED A.P.

“some say less is more, others say more is more. I say just right, is the only way to go”

About Susan Yen

Hello and welcome. It’s always a bit tricky to talk about myself, because I rather talk about you and design ideas that may be helpful to you. But here we go …

  • OEM PM (original equipment manufacturing Program Manager) was a title I once identified with for the first couple years of my professional career

  • Got lucky and found UCLA Arc_ID program, that changed my life

  • Before becoming a freelance designer I’ve had the pleasure of working in outstanding Design and Architecture firms such as HBA, and SOM.

  • Took some time to better myself for the greater good of the design and build community, studied really hard and became a LEED A.P. (Leadership in environmental and energy design, accredited professional). What does it mean? It means I design with your health in mind.

  • Nearly gave up my freedom as a freelancer and went to work for Foster and Partners, but my 4 year old son at the time coerced me out of that, which I still regret from time to time

  • Don’t have a house style as everything I do focuses on bringing my clients’ vision to life. Because really it’s not about me, it’s about you.

So I think I’ve said enough about myself, would be lovely to learn a bit about you too !
