Counselling & Psychotherapy with Kay Edwards

BACP registered Humanistic Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist

“Making the decision to come to therapy is not always an easy one and demonstrates a willingness and desire for change. In return, my commitment is to support and facilitate you on this journey to the best of my ability.”

What is bringing you here today?  Something unresolved from the past?  Struggles with relationships?  Unhelpful patterns of thoughts, feelings, behaviours that limit you?  Feeling stuck in life?  I can help and offer therapy tailored to suit you.  I work with an approach that makes sense to you and is compatible with your values.

Working in relationship together I will encourage you to explore issues, concerns and difficult feelings in a safe, non-judgemental space.   In a way, the therapy space can be experienced as a microcosm of the outside world and used to understand how we are in the world and whether that feels ok for us or not.  Particularly, it is an opportunity to explore how we might like to be and how that would feel. For me, it is the relational aspect that gets to the heart of the matter.

I am a qualified therapist based in North London having undertaken an integrative training in psychodynamic & humanistic counselling.  However, I firmly believe that change comes from within and models and techniques can only be used as a guide in helping us to understand our inner worlds.

I have worked with a wide range of people dealing with many different issues from anxiety, depression and relationships to bereavement and trauma.  Although the presenting issues and symptoms may be similar, each individual is unique and it is through working in relationship that awareness, change and resolution is made possible.

Making the decision to come to therapy is not always an easy one and demonstrates a willingness and desire for change. In return, my commitment is to support and facilitate you on this journey to the best of my ability.

Sessions are 50 minutes and held weekly at a mutually agreed day and time. They can be in person or online.
